Royal Mail upp 44% – oppositionen rasar mot näringsministern

Stockholm (HedgeNordic.com) – Fyra dagar efter börsnoteringen av Royal Mail, den brittiska posten, hade aktien i måndags stigit 44 procent. Nu växer kritiken mot den brittiske näringsministern Vince Cable, som anklagas för att ha sålt bolaget för billigt. Det skriver SvD Näringsliv.

Aktierna i det nyligen noterade Royal Mail, det nästan 500 år gamla brittiska postverket, steg ytterligare drygt 10 pence på måndagen, och handlades i 4,65 pund, motsvarande 44 procent över introduktionskursen. Nu kan en utredning i det brittiska underhuset komma att titta på hur rådgivaren Lazard kom fram till introduktionspriset 3,30 pund, vilket i backspegeln anses ha varit för lågt.

Vince Cable, näringsminister och ansvarig för noteringen, var snabb att slå ifrån sig kritiken. Redan efter första handelsdagen, då aktien handlades upp 38 procent, konstaterade han att det alltid blir stor uppståndelse och mycket spekulation i kölvattnet efter en så stor börsnotering, rapporterar SvD.

Intresset för börsintroduktionen var stort. Initialt hade 30 procent av aktierna fördelats till brittiska småsparare, men den kvoten fick skruvas upp sedan nästan 700 000 britter ansökt om att få köpa aktier. Maxtilldelningen för privatpersoner blev till slut 227 aktier. Resten, motsvarande 67 procent av aktierna, tilldelades pensionsfonder, försäkringsbolag och hedgefonder, som hittills kunnat räkna hem en rejäl vinst på det tidigare statliga bolaget.
