Powering Hedge Funds

Stockholm (HedgeNordic.com) -Vikström och Andersson har beslutat att lägga ned sin Managed Futures fond Density. Beslutet kommer som en följd av fondens dåliga avkastning enligt ett uttalande från fondens förvaltare Jonas Vikström till nyhetsbyrån Reuters.

Fonden Density som handlade 138 marknader i tillgångsslagen aktier, räntor, valutor och råvaror var tidigare en del-strategi i Brummer & Partners Nektar fond. 2008 blev Density ett separat fondbolag.

Density fonden växte till 58 miljoner dollar i förvaltat kapital men har haft svårt att prestera under senare år och har bara under årets första 9 månader förlorat 14.9%.

“Avkastningen har inte varit vad vi hoppades på” säger Jonas Vikström “det har faktiskt varit ganska dåligt”

“Vi siktade på en nichad CTA-strategi men det fungerade inte alls bra… Vi har inte resurserna att fortsätta kämpa”.

Sedan slutet av 2008 har Density fallit 26.6% enligt att fondfaktablad som Reuters tagit del av. I ett brev till investerarna skriver Vikström att fonden kommer upphöra i slutet på denna månad.
