Nordic Insights: Managed Futures (Roundtable Discussion)

Powering Hedge Funds

HedgeFonder.nu bjöd tillsammans med RPM, Risk & Portfolio Management in representanter för den Nordiska CTA-industrin till ett rundabordssamtal i Stockholm. Bland deltagarna fanns AP1, Ålandsbanken Commodity Fund, ALFAKRAFT, Coeli Spektrum, Estlander & Partners, IPM Informed Portfolio Management, Movestic, SEB Asset Selection samt RPM och Nordic Business Media.

Under samtalet försökte vi definiera Managed Futures samt särskilja det från andra hedgefond-strategier. Vi diskuterade vidare skillnaden mellan systematiska och diskretionära strategier samt hur storleken på förvaltat kapital påverkar avkastningen för CTAs.

Diskussionen behandlade vidare “den svarta lådan” och hur investerare tar till sig en fullständigt systematisk förvaltningsstrategi. Vilka missuppfattningar finns? Hur närmar sig olika typer av investerare CTAs? Vilken roll spelar den teknologiska utvecklingen för CTA-strategier?

Formatet som valts för att sammanfatta diskussionen syftar till att ge läsaren en känsla av delaktighet och en chans att “lyssna in” på ett samtal mellan branschens ledande aktörer. Vi hoppas detta kan ge läsaren en “Nordic Insight” vad gäller Managed Futures.

Kamran Ghalitschi
Kamran has been working in the financial industry since 1994 and has specialized on client relations and marketing. Having worked with retail clients in asset management and brokerage the first ten years of his career for major European banks, he joined a CTA / Managed Futures fund with 1,5 Billion USD under management where he was responsible for sales, client relations and operations in the BeNeLux and Nordic countries. Kamran joined a multi-family office managing their own fund of hedgefunds with 400 million USD AuM in 2009. Kamran has worked and lived in Vienna, Frankfurt, Amsterdam and Stockholm. Born in 1974, Kamran today again lives in Vienna, Austria.
