BANK OF ENGLAND: LÄMNAR STYRRÄNTAN OFÖRÄNDRAD

STOCKHOLM (Direkt) Den brittiska centralbanken lämnade basräntan oförändrad på 0,50 procent efter det penningpolitiska mötet på torsdagen, enligt Bloomberg News.

Den så kallade bas- eller interventionsräntan är Bank of Englands utlåningsränta till penningmarknaden och dess främsta styrmedel.

I Bloomberg News enkät trodde samtliga 52 tillfrågade att räntan skulle lämnas oförändrad.

Senast Bank of England justerade basräntan var den 5 mars 2009, då den sänktes med 50 punkter till 0,50 procent.

Bank of England meddelade även att de lämnar målet att köpa tillgångar
oförändrat på 275 miljarder pund.

Samtliga 39 analytiker i Bloomberg News enkät hade väntat sig ett oförändrat mål.

Bank of England skriver att räknar med att programmet för tillgångsköp kommer att ta ytterligare två månader att fullborda, samtidigt som omfattningen av programmet fortsatt ses över.
