STOCKHOLM (Direkt) En appreciering av yuanen skulle inte hjälpa till att stötta tillväxten i USA, som inte kan återgå till att vara en ekonomi baserad på tillverkningsindustrin.

Det sade Li Daokui, rådgivare till Kinas centralbank, på tisdagen, enligt Bloomberg News.

Han sade att yuanen väntas appreciera 4 till 5 procent i år, samtidigt som BNP väntas öka med mellan 8 och 9 procent i år.

En starkare yuan skulle i huvudsak dra upp importkostnaderna i USA och spä på inflationen, sade han.
