LONDON METAL EXCHANGE UPPVAKTAS FRÅN FLERA HÅLL

STOCKHOLM (Direkt) London Metal Exchange, LME, meddelade på fredagskvällen att det erhållit flera intresseanmälningar avseende potentiella strategiska transaktioner och att styrelsen kommer att inleda en formell process som kan leda till ett bud, skriver Bloomberg News.

Enligt uppgifter i Financial Times är den amerikanska börsoperatören CME Group, Singaporebörsen (SGX) och Intercontinental Exchange (ICE) bland sannolika intressenter på LME. Samtliga tre potentiella budgivare erbjuder i dag handel i metaller, dock i en mindre skala än LME.

Enligt en person med insyn i ärendet kan LME komma att värderas till över 1 miljard pund.

LME står i dag för 80 procent av handeln med metallterminer och skulle därmed ge köparen en ledande position inom området.

Under fjolåret blev LME:s resultat före skatt 12,5 miljoner pund.
