Jordbruksderivat på Eurex når viktig milstolpe

Stockholm (www.HedgeFonder.nu) – Antalet derivat på jordbruksprodukter som handlas på Eurex har överskridit 100.000 kontrakt sedan lanseringen i juli 2009. Volymen har ökat stadigt, delvis på grund av de instabila väderförhållandena 2011 och 2010. Hittills i år är den genomsnittliga dagliga volymen (ADV) över 300 kontrakt, eller cirka 38.000 kontrakt totalt. Hittills i juni 2011 uppgår ADV till nästan 400 kontrakt. År 2010 var ADV omkring 200 kontrakt.

Eurex erbjuder terminshandel inom sex jordbruksprodukter, baserade på smör, europeiska processpotatis, svin, ’London potatis’, smågrisar och skummjölkspulver. Alla terminer är baserade på de etablerade referenspriserna från respektive spotmarknader och avvecklas med kontantavräkning.

Eurex jordbruksderivat syftar till att nå en bred grupp av användare, inklusive jordbrukare och jordbrukskooperativ, handel- och slaktföretag och beredningsindustrin. För dem innebär börsnoterade derivat på jordbruksprodukter ökad transparens vad gäller prissättning, samtidigt som den centrala clearingen av dessa kontrakt på Eurex Clearing minskar motpartsriskerna som existerar i OTC-marknader.
