Japanska hedgefonder upp 2,62% i februari

This year’s Alternative Fixed Income report from HedgeNordic explores how institutional investors and asset managers are navigating this new reality, balancing yield and resilience amid shifting credit cycles, structural change, and evolving sources of return.

New York (HedgeCo.net) – Det bästa regionala avkastningen levererades av japanska hedgefonder, med en uppgång på   2,62% i februari. Japanska hedgefonder som investerar i finans-och försäkringsaktier, samt material-och gruvföretag,  rapporterade goda resultat – Nikkei 225 steg 3,77% under månaden.

Hedgefonder i allmänhet steg för åttonde månaden i rad i februari och värdet av förvaltat kapital ökade med nästan 30 miljarder USD genom nettoinflöden under de första två månaderna 2011 och förvaltat kapital passerade 1.700 miljarder USD för första gången sedan september 2008.

Avkastningen från europeiska hedgefonder var också positiva i februari, upp 0,55%, medan fonder med investeringar i Östeuropa och Ryssland steg 1,22%. Hedgefonder inom asien ex-Japan fick bevittna förluster i storleksordningen -1,32% p.g.a. nedgångar i underliggande marknader – MSCI Asia Pacific ex Japan Index var ned 2,36%.

De flesta andra efonder levererade också en positiv avkastning, med nordamerikanska hedgefonder upp 2,16% i februari. S & P 500 var upp 3,20% under månaden och nådde en 32-månaders högsta i den tredje veckan i månaden, för att sedan sjunka tillbaka något mot slutet av månaden på grund av ökade geopolitiska spänningar.
