Stockholm-based asset manager Alfakraft Fonder has entered into a strategic partnership with crypto specialist Bitwise to develop regulated digital asset investment solutions for professional investors across Europe, leveraging its Luxembourg institutional fund infrastructure. The collaboration combines Bitwise’s expertise in digital assets with Alfakraft’s capabilities in regulated fund management, portfolio management, and institutional investment solutions.
“We are pleased to establish this partnership with Bitwise at a time when institutional interest in digital assets continues to develop rapidly,” says Madeleine Pulk, Chief Executive Officer of Alfakraft Fonder AB. “By combining our respective areas of expertise within well-established Luxembourg fund structures and institutional-grade infrastructure, we believe we can offer investors well-governed, regulated investment solutions designed to meet the evolving needs of institutional investors across the European region.”

The partnership comes as institutional adoption of digital assets continues to accelerate, supported by maturing regulatory frameworks and a growing range of regulated investment vehicles. Alfakraft and Bitwise aim to broaden institutional access to the asset class through regulated fund structures, disciplined portfolio construction, and a long-term investment approach tailored to structural asset owners and liability-driven investors, including pension funds, insurers, and foundations. Beyond product development, the collaboration will also focus on investor education, market insights, and joint business development initiatives, supporting the continued evolution of digital assets as a recognized institutional asset class.

The partnership marks another step in Alfakraft Fonder’s strategy of expanding its range of differentiated investment solutions for institutional investors. Founded in 1998, the Nordic asset manager operates across Sweden and Luxembourg, managing both UCITS and alternative investment funds within a regulated framework. Its new partner, Bitwise, is one of the world’s largest dedicated crypto asset managers, overseeing more than $11 billion in assets across exchange-traded products, ETFs, separately managed accounts, private funds, hedge fund strategies, staking solutions, and digital asset custody offerings. The firms expect to announce their first joint investment initiatives once the relevant regulatory approvals have been completed.
