HedgeNordic ranked all funds eligible for nomination according to a calculation model co-developed with the Swedish House of Finance at the Stockholm School of Economics based on data drawn from the Nordic Hedge Index. This quantitative model weights various parameters of all funds with a minimum track record of 36 months to determine a shortlist for each respective strategy sub-category and the broader universe. A quant-based score for each eligible fund is determined by considering short-term absolute performance, short-term performance in relation to its respective strategy sub-category, 36-month skewness, longer-term absolute performance, and longer-term risk-adjusted returns.

The top five scorers in each category are defined as “shortlisted” and are nominated for the Nordic Hedge Award. The shortlist will be handed to Jury members, who will then award their scores for each respective fund by considering a wide range of qualitative and quantitative factors. And finally, the quantitative and qualitative scores are put on an equal footing by being normalized and equally weighted to determine the final rankings, and thus the winners and runners-up to the Nordic Hedge Award.
