Tech Power-Up for Tidan with CTO Appointment

Powering Hedge Funds

Stockholm (HedgeNordic) – Tidan Capital has transformed from a single-strategy fund into a multi-fund boutique, a shift that demands robust technology infrastructure. To support this growth, the Stockholm-based firm has appointed Magnus Kyllergård as Chief Technology Officer (CTO).

“With his deep expertise in managing complex IT infrastructure and building advanced quantitative systems, Magnus brings a wealth of experience that will further strengthen Tidan’s commitment to innovation and technological excellence,” says Serge Houles, CEO of Tidan Capital. “As CTO, Magnus will oversee the continued development of our technology stack, ensuring that Tidan remains at the forefront of innovation while supporting the seamless integration of our multi-strategy approach.”

Before joining Tidan, Kyllergård specialized in designing and managing systems for systematic strategies, including collaborating with Linus Nilsson to build robust and scalable trading infrastructures. Nilsson, Tidan’s Head of Systematic Strategies, oversees the systematic macro strategy Asterion, which targets short-term price fluctuations using a diverse set of uncorrelated strategies inspired by behavioral and flow-driven market dynamics. This strategy is designed to maintain a low correlation with conventional trend-following models. Asterion is already live and is set to officially launch in a fund structure early next year.

As Tidan has evolved into a multi-strategy platform, Kyllergård’s role will extend across the boutique. “His strong background in coding, coupled with a deep understanding of the technical demands of investment strategies, will play a key role in advancing Tidan’s capabilities across all our platforms,” adds Houles.

Currently, Tidan Capital manages a range of strategies, including a capital structure relative value strategy under the Tidan Fund, the Asterion strategy, a market-neutral volatility and options arbitrage strategy named Nova, and an equity-focused market-neutral strategy called Themis. These diverse strategies introduce additional layers of operational complexity, spanning various asset classes, time horizons, and risk profiles. Kyllergård’s expertise will be key in managing these complexities and supporting Tidan’s growth trajectory.
