Stockholm (HedgeNordic) – Amid growing focus and interest in sustainability, a new Article 8 fund has surfaced in the Nordic hedge fund arena. Danske Invest Global Cross Asset Volatility, a multi-asset, multi-strategy fund employing volatility-related strategies, is now disclosed as Article 8 under the EU’s Sustainable Finance Disclosure Regulation (SFDR).

The fund managed by Chief Portfolio Manager Jacob Øland Jensen (pictured right) will promote environmental safeguards, as well as ethical and social safeguards through the exclusion of certain activities deemed to have significant negative climate impact or deemed to be non-ethical or controversial. The fund will proactively engage with issuers on significant sustainability matters. “Given the importance of sustainability, we continuously work with strengthening the value proposition of the fund and this is a natural step,” says Jacob Øland Jensen.

Operating with a wide mandate spanning systematic and tactical strategies across fixed income, equities and currencies, the team behind Danske Invest Global Cross Asset Volatility has enhanced their disclosures regarding the impact of its investment decisions on sustainability factors, something that will also be reported going forward. The multi-asset, multi-strategy fund applies different strategies, all within the volatility space or with a connection to the volatility space.

Danske Invest Global Cross Asset Volatility aims to exhibit a low correlation to risky assets, primarily in stressed markets, and strives to achieve a return between four to six percent. The fund edged down 0.7 percent in the challenging market environment of 2022 following its best year in 2021 with an 8.1 percent gain. The fund achieved a 5.5 percent increase over the first seven months of 2023. Currently, the fund oversees €285 million in assets under management.
