Stockholm (HedgeNordic) – Scientia Hedge, the Swedish hedge fund managed by Insiderfonder, gained 6,3 percent in November adding to a 7.1 percent gain in October. This brings performance year-to-date to a whopping 22 percent gain, meaning a new all time high for the fund.Nordic Hedge Index (NHX) Composite in November was up by 1,95% (est) and gained 5,3% YTD (est.)

The investment philosophy of Scientia Hedge is to invest in companies where insiders are buying and at the same time take positions in gold and oil to limit downside risks in the case of sudden risk off events.

In a comment to the month’s performance, Insiderfonder says: ”Scientia Hedge outperformed the equity market by 3 percentage points in November, despite a weak development in the fund´s positions in gold and oil. The fund rose 6.3 percent, with the main contributor being Rottneros, the supplier of high-quality paper pulp. Following a strong earnings announcement for the third quarter, the stock surged 69 percent”.

Scientia Hedge currently ranks among the ten highest net performers year-to-date among the 151 hedge funds listed in HedgeNordics universe.
