Danish boutique asset manager Asset Adviser has appointed Frank Sørensen as Senior Strategist, less than a year after Stonehenge Fondsmæglerselskab, the Danish asset manager he led first as CIO and later as CEO, was acquired by Sparinvest in 2025. Sørensen joins Per Gramstrup and his team, which manages the firm’s existing dynamic and opportunistic multi-asset hedge fund, Asset Opportunities.
“After 10 years of waiting, I now have my first day of work with Frank Sørensen, who has his first day of work with us at Asset Advisor today,” Gramstrup announces on LinkedIn. “I have known Frank professionally for 15 years.” Gramstrup said he had been waiting for the right opportunity for Sørensen to join the firm. “I have been waiting for an opportunity where Frank would find it exciting, attractive and appropriate for his career to join my team here at Asset Advisor,” he says. “It is a huge pleasure that Frank Sørensen has now finally started. I look forward to lots of strong analyses of the financial markets, lots of good sparring about the positions we take for our clients.”

Per Gramstrup
Gramstrup founded Asset Adviser as a one-person boutique in 2009, focusing on an opportunistic multi-asset risk-on, risk-off strategy. He later extended the strategy into a fund format with the launch of Asset Opportunities in late 2016. The strategy is built around a continuous assessment of risk-on and risk-off sentiment across financial markets, combining objective and subjective factors including long-term trends, economic cycles, monetary policy, investor sentiment, asset flows and the behaviour and biases of market participants.
Sørensen brings nearly 15 years of experience from Stonehenge, where he initially served as CIO for around a decade before becoming CEO. Prior to joining Stonehenge, he worked at Jyske Bank as a strategist and portfolio manager, where he first crossed paths professionally with Gramstrup, and earlier at Spar Nord Bank as a macroeconomist and strategist.
“After a few years as CEO, I am looking forward to focusing on my competencies in strategy, tactical allocation, macroeconomics and portfolio composition, which I have always been passionate about.”

For Sørensen, the move represents a return to the areas of investment strategy and portfolio management that have defined much of his career. “On Monday 17 August, I start as a senior strategist at Asset Advisor in Aarhus and the choice has been easy,” says Sørensen. “I have known Per Gramstrup for many years and have a huge respect for him, his setup and his strong team. I am really looking forward to the collaboration and look forward to contributing.”
His role will focus primarily on investment strategy and portfolio construction, while also involving direct interaction with clients. “We have a very broad investment universe and an active risk-driven approach,” says Sørensen. “After a few years as CEO, I am looking forward to focusing on my competencies in strategy, tactical allocation, macroeconomics and portfolio composition, which I have always been passionate about.” Sørensen will also take on a client-facing role, an aspect of the position he says he particularly welcomes.
