HedgeNordic proudly announces the jury board for the 2025 Nordic Hedge Award, assembling a group of experienced investment professionals from Nordic institutional investors and advisory organisations.

The Nordic Hedge Award recognises hedge fund managers operating in the Nordic market and highlights achievements in performance, risk management, and investment discipline. The awards are grounded in a structured evaluation framework designed to ensure consistency, transparency, and independence.

This year’s jury board consists of:

  • Helen Idenstedt, Alternative Investments Specialist
  • Gustav Karner, CEO and CIO at Apoteket’s Pension Fund
  • Annika Luoto, Senior Portfolio Manager, Absolute Return Investments at Ilmarinen
  • Peter Ragnarsson, Head of Alternative Investments at PRI Pensionsgaranti
  • Antti Vartiainen, Portfolio Manager at Elo
  • Cian Walsh, Head of Hedge Funds and Private Debt at Formue

The evaluation process underpinning the Nordic Hedge Award combines quantitative analysis with qualitative review. The quantitative component is based on risk-adjusted performance metrics assessed across defined time horizons. The qualitative assessment considers factors including investment strategy, portfolio construction, risk management practices, and organisational and operational characteristics.

Within this framework, the jury board plays a central role. Drawing on their experience in manager selection, portfolio construction, and alternative investments, the jury members provide independent judgement and industry perspective to the qualitative review process. Their assessment contributes to a balanced evaluation that extends beyond performance statistics alone.

The Nordic Hedge Award continues to serve as a platform for recognising consistency, resilience, and innovation within the Nordic hedge fund universe.
