Nordea Adds Systematic Fixed Income Expertise

Nordea Asset Management (NAM) has strengthened its data-driven investment capabilities with the addition of two London-based professionals, Lucette Yvernault and Marton Huebler, marking the firm’s expansion into systematic fixed income. Yvernault joins as Head of Systematic Fixed Income, while Huebler takes on the role of Senior Portfolio Manager. As Head of Systematic Fixed Income, Yvernault will report to Asbjørn Trolle Hansen, Head of Multi Assets, who also oversees Nordea’s multi-asset alpha fund range.

Yvernault joins from Fidelity International, where she built and led a successful multi-billion-euro franchise as Head of Systematic Fixed Income. Her focus was on actively managed, low-tracking-error solutions and customised mandates. With over two decades of experience in global fixed income portfolio design for institutional investors, her expertise spans LDI-based strategies and ESG integration.

Huebler, previously a Portfolio Manager at Fidelity International, brings extensive experience in quantitative fixed income investing. He has held several senior roles, including Head of Quantitative Fixed Income Research, and has a strong track record in managing fixed income portfolios and systematic strategies.

“We are pleased to welcome Lucette Yvernault and Marton Huebler to Nordea Asset Management. They bring outstanding expertise in Systematic Fixed Income that aligns with and extends our existing data-driven capabilities,” says Asbjørn Trolle Hansen, Head of Multi Assets at Nordea Asset Management. “Their approach to fixed income mirrors the award-winning approach of our Multi Assets Team and will leverage its established research platform to deliver actively managed, risk-controlled fixed income solutions — complementing our successful BetaPlus Enhanced Equity offering.”

For more than two decades, Nordea Asset Management and its Multi Assets team have applied data-driven approaches across balanced, absolute return, and equity portfolios, generating consistent excess returns through quantitative techniques ranging from factor investing to machine learning. In recent years, NAM’s BetaPlus Enhanced Equity strategies have gained strong investor traction, offering lower active risk alongside steady alpha generation. The team currently manages over €150 billion, of which more than €70 billion is allocated to BetaPlus Enhanced Equity solutions.

The Multi Assets team, led by Hansen, also manages NAM’s alpha fund range, comprising three solutions with a combined €5 billion in assets under management. Each fund captures risk-on and risk-off premia while maintaining distinct risk-return profiles. By combining exposures that perform well in both rising and falling markets, the funds reduce reliance on top-down macro calls and deliver robust, risk-adjusted returns that are less dependent on equity market movements.
