Rettig Appoints Crescit Manager to Oversee Hedge Fund Strategies

Simon Borgefors has joined Finnish family-owned investment company Rettig as Investment Director for hedge fund strategies in Stockholm, leaving Swedish hedge fund boutique Crescit Asset Management after nearly eight years. At Rettig, he will oversee external hedge fund allocations and spearhead the development of in-house derivative strategies and overlays.

“I’m happy to share that I have started a new role as Portfolio Manager at Rettig Ltd,” Borgefors announces on LinkedIn. “I’ll be overseeing external hedge funds and working to implement in-house derivative strategies and overlays as well.” His move follows nearly eight years at derivatives-focused hedge fund boutique Crescit Asset Management. Borgefors began his career as an investment analyst at Almi Invest before joining Crescit, where he advanced from portfolio analyst to junior portfolio manager and, for the past three and a half years, served as portfolio manager.

“I’m happy to share that I have started a new role as Portfolio Manager at Rettig Ltd. I’ll be overseeing external hedge funds and working to implement in-house derivative strategies and overlays as well.”

Crescit Asset Management, based in Stockholm, is a hedge fund boutique specializing in derivatives-driven strategies designed to deliver absolute, risk‑adjusted returns with built-in downside protection across its two funds. Derivatives are at the core of Crescit’s approach: the firm employs options and other instruments to actively manage market risk, shape expected outcomes, and optimize capital allocation across asset classes.

After nearly eight years at Crescit, Borgefors will draw on his experience to oversee Rettig’s external hedge fund allocations while also developing in-house derivative strategies and overlays. As Investment Director, he will lead the management and development of the firm’s absolute return strategies, working hands-on with both external hedge fund mandates and in-house quantitative investments. In addition, he will play a key role in portfolio-wide risk management and strategic hedging initiatives.

Over the past few years, Rettig has successfully transformed from an industrial conglomerate into a dynamic international investment company. Adopting a multi-strategy approach, the firm invests across private markets, listed markets, and absolute return strategies on a global scale. Beyond its core holdings, Rettig allocates capital to financial investments, including private equity fund commitments and co-investments, along with hedge fund strategies. Its allocations to absolute return strategies, in particular, focus on external global hedge funds encompassing a diverse range of underlying investment approaches.
