Stockholm (HedgeNordic) – Swedish fund boutique Tidan Capital has announced the appointment of Dennis Karlsson as Senior Portfolio Manager within its volatility and options arbitrage team. This appointment reunites Karlsson with Magnus Linder, Tidan Capital’s Head of Volatility and Options Arbitrage, marking the continuation of a 15-year professional partnership. Under Linder’s stewardship, Tidan Capital operates a market-neutral volatility and options arbitrage strategy called NOVA.

Karlsson joins Tidan Capital after spending 17 years at Swedbank Markets in various senior roles, where he developed tailored derivative strategies for institutional clients. He also gained extensive experience in portfolio and risk management during his tenure at Nordea. Karlsson and Linder worked together for over 15 years at Swedbank, where they developed and managed sophisticated options and volatility arbitrage strategies.

“Expanding NOVA into single-stock derivatives is a natural progression of our strategy, reflecting Tidan’s focus on pioneering solutions.”

Karlsson’s role at Tidan Capital will contribute to the strategic evolution of the NOVA strategy. With over 20 years of experience in derivatives, risk management, and portfolio management, Karlsson brings a wealth of expertise as the firm expands the NOVA strategy into single-stock volatility and options arbitrage. “Expanding NOVA into single-stock derivatives is a natural progression of our strategy, reflecting Tidan’s focus on pioneering solutions,” comments Magnus Linder, Tidan Capital’s Head of Volatility and Options Arbitrage. “Having worked closely with Dennis for over 15 years, I know his expertise and insights will enhance the depth and breadth of our approach, delivering exceptional value to our investors.”

Karlsson also expressed enthusiasm about the opportunity, saying “Tidan Capital’s innovative culture and strategic vision make this an exciting opportunity. I look forward to building on my longstanding partnership with Magnus and leveraging our expertise to expand NOVA into new dimensions of volatility and options arbitrage.”

Since Houles joined, the firm has evolved into a collaborative investment platform offering a broader range of alpha-driven strategies managed by distinct, experienced teams.
