Truepenny Appoints CEO in Launch Preparation

Stockholm (HedgeNordic) – Truepenny Capital Management founded by CIO Thomas Orbert, a former portfolio manager at Swedish hedge fund Nektar Management, has appointed Thomas Lönnerstam as Chief Executive Officer. The new appointment will support Truepenny Capital in the upcoming launch of Truepenny Global Macro, which is set to combine a set of strategies such as a fully systematic asset allocation strategy and a macro relative value strategy.

“I’m happy to share that I’m starting a new position as Chief Executive Officer and Partner at Truepenny Capital Management,” Thomas Lönnerstam (pictured) announced on LinkedIn. Lönnerstam brings extensive experience in the banking and insurance industry, having held various senior roles at Nordea Liv & Pension Sverige, Danske Bank Sverige, and Nordea. Most recently, he served as Head of Sales and Financial Crime Officer at Nordea Liv & Pension Sverige for over six years. Lönnerstam began his career at SEB in 1989, where he spent 16 and a half years in various roles.

Truepenny is in the process of launching Truepenny Global Macro, which aims to provide investors with stable risk and an inflation hedge by employing a diverse range of trading strategies. These strategies include fully systematic proprietary asset allocation, relative value strategies, and model-based macro strategies focused on inflation risks. The fund is scheduled to launch in the autumn of 2023.

Additionally, Truepenny Capital Management has hired Jonas Davis as a summer analyst focusing on monetary and liquidity research. “Super happy to welcome Jonas Davis as a summer analyst. Looking forward to working with you,” Truepenny announces on LinkedIn. “Truepenny is an early-stage hedge fund, currently operating in Stockholm, Sweden, and I look forward to continuing my work abroad,” comments Davis, a student at Vassar College in New York.
