Schroders Appoints Head of Nordics for Real Estate

Powering Hedge Funds

Stockholm (HedgeNordic) – Schroders Capital has appointed Johan Bråkenhielm as Head of the Nordics for Real Estate. The appointment comes after Eva Granlund, the previous Head of Real Estate Investments in the Nordics, announced that she would be “taking the leap to work for myself with the ambition to realize a few ideas” after six years at Schroders.

Johan Bråkenhielm, who has more than 20 years of real estate experience, has most recently served as the Chief Operating Officer of Swedish real estate company Offentliga Hus, which was acquired by SBB. At Offentliga Hus, Bråkenhielm oversaw its property portfolio and all transactions, as well as was highly involved in the listing of the company. His extensive real estate experience also encompasses tenures at ING, CBRE Global Investors and Ernst & Young Real Estate.

“Our global management team is very pleased to welcome Johan and we are looking forward to further developing our Nordics platform together.”

“Our global management team is very pleased to welcome Johan and we are looking forward to further developing our Nordics platform together,” comments Sophie van Oosterom, Global Head of Real Estate at Schroders Capital. “Johan joins us with a wealth of experience in the Nordics market built up over his 23 years in the industry working with and for a number of highly-rated institutions.”

As Schroders Capital’s Head of the Nordics for Real Estate, Bråkenhielm will be focused on strengthening the existing real estate platform in the region and on further developing the business. “As part of his remit, Johan will be focused on meeting the investment needs of our clients in the Nordic region and will look to expand Schroders Capital’s offering into alternative and value-add strategies,” says Sophie van Oosterom. Schroders Capital manages €800 million of assets in the region for clients across core and core-plus strategies.
