Stockholm (HedgeNordic) – Infrastructure manager Niam Infrastructure has hired Johanna Strömsten Friberg as Associate Director from Swedish pension fund Alecta, where she worked as Portfolio Manager for Real Assets.

Johanna Strömsten Friberg spent the past four years at Alecta, most recently as Portfolio Manager for International Real Assets. She was responsible for building up Niam’s infrastructure portfolio, including investments in heat, renewable and telecom infrastructure assets. Previously she worked in investment banking at Bank of America Merrill Lynch and SEB, as well as within investment management as an investment analyst at Schroders.

“I am really looking forward to the opportunity to build a leading Nordic infrastructure platform together with Niam Infrastructure,” Johanna Strömsten Friberg comments on joining Niam Infrastructure, which launched its first fund focusing on sustainable infrastructure investments in the Nordic region and Northern Europe in 2021. “Together, the team has solid sector experience and Niam’s long term focus provides the right pre-conditions,” she continues. “Our society is just in the beginning of a major energy transition and to invest in sustainable infrastructure enabling this transition is exciting, important and absolutely necessary.”
