Efterfrågan på guld rekordstort under 2012

This year’s Alternative Fixed Income report from HedgeNordic explores how institutional investors and asset managers are navigating this new reality, balancing yield and resilience amid shifting credit cycles, structural change, and evolving sources of return.

Stockholm (HedgeFonder.nu) – Efterfrågan på guld uppgick under 2012 till 236,4 miljarder USD i termer av marknadsvärde, vilket är ”all-time high”. Detta enligt siffror publicerade av World Gold Council.

Efterfrågan på guld under årets fjärde kvartal var 6% högre jämfört med motsvarande period föregående år och uppgick till 66,2 mdr USD, vilket är den högsta Q4-siffran någonsin.

Den globala efterfrågan under Q4 2012 var 1.195,9 ton, upp 4% jämfört med samma kvartal 2011. Under Q4 2012 nådde det genomsnittliga guldpriset rekordnivån USD 1.721,8/oz, en uppgång med 1% jämfört med den tidigare rekordnoteringen i Q3 2011.

Det genomsnittliga priset under 2012 var USD 1.669,0/oz, upp 6% från USD 1.571,5/oz under 2011.

Köp från centralbanker steg under helåret med 17% jämfört med 2011 och uppgick totalt till 534.6 ton, vilket var den högsta nivån sedan 1964. Centralbanksköpen uppgick till 145.0 ton under fjärde kvartalet, en uppgång med 29% jämfört med motsvarande kvartal föregående år, vilket gör detta till det åttonde kvartalet i rad där centralbanker har varit nettoköpare av guld.

Globala investeringar i guld-ETF’er var signifikant högre under 2012, +51% jämfört med föregående år, även om Q4 var ner -16% till 88,1 ton jämfört med den rekordhöga nivån under Q3 2012.
