BOE: Inflationen fortsätter dämpas 2013

STOCKHOLM (Direkt) Inflationen i Storbritannien kommer att fortsätta att dämpas
in i 2013.

Det sade Bank of Englands vicechef Charles Bean i en intervju med The
BusinessDesk.com, rapporterar Bloomberg News.

Även om tillväxten har varit svagare än BOE räknat med har det varit “viss
draghjälp” från de kvantitativa lättnaderna, sade han.

Han sade vidare att ekonomin varit svag på grund av stigande råvarupriser,
spänningar i eurozonen och kostnaderna för att finansiera bankerna.

Paul Fisher, chef för marknader på BOE, sade i en annan intervju med tidningen
Belfast Telegraph att ytterligare sänkningar av styrräntorna sannolikt inte
kommer att tillhandahålla lika mycket stimulans som obligationsköp.

“Om vi trodde att det skulle ge mer stimulans skulle vi göra det, men
tillgångsköp genom kvantitativa lättnader är en mer kraftfull väg att hjälpa
ekonomin”, sade Paul Fisher till tidningen.

Han tillade att BOE håller frågan “under översikt”.
