Bank of Greece och Credit Agricole diskuterar samarbete

STOCKHOLM (Direkt) Greklands största långivare, National Bank of Greece, och Credit Agricole har fört samtal om ett eventuellt samarbete i framtiden.

Det framgår av ett börsmeddelande på måndagen, rapporterar Bloomberg.

“Det har förts samtal mellan ledningen i National Bank of Greece och Credit Agricolé i relation till möjligheten av en strategisk allians i framtiden. Samtalen är i en tidig fas”, uppger National Bank of Greece.

Financial Times har tidigare rapporterat att National Bank of Greece, Alfa Bank och EFG Eurobank Ergasis har visat intresse för att förvärva Credit Agricolés grekiska enhet.

Enligt FT:s anonyma källor ska Credit Agricolé, i juni, ha tillfrågat grekiska banker om att lägga bud på en majoritetsandel i dess dotterbank Emporiki, efter oro för en uttagsanstormning (bank run) i landet.

I fjol kostade den grekiska krisen Credit Agricole 2,4 miljarder euro, vilket föranledde en inställd utdelning. Oro för Emporiki och en grekisk euroexit har fått Credit Agricole att rasa 65 procent det senaste året.

Runt 10.15-tiden var Credit Agricolé upp 7,5 procent i Paris. National Bank of Greece avancerade 1,4 procent i Aten.
